Caregiver Connections
Family Support Network Caregiver Connections is a support group for caregivers raising a child with special needs. Whether those needs are physical, behavioral, or medical, this group is available to support foster, adoptive or kinship families.
This month, we will discuss applying for Medicaid. Together we will look at how to apply, required documents, and the application process.
Join In-person or virtually. RSVP is required 1 day prior to group meeting indicating if attending in person or virtually to jmiller@rapc.org. Link to join virtually will be sent after RSVP is received.

RSVP is required one day prior to the date of Part 1. Training will be cancelled if no RSVPs are received. Click below to RSVP. Please include names of those attending.
The Parent Mentor Orientation Training is for caregivers who have experience navigating systems and understand the unique experience of raising a child with a disability, mental health challenge, or special healthcare needs.
Caregivers who are raising other kin’s children, grandparents raising grandchildren, or foster families are also welcome to take this training.
This training offers:

Specifics in cultural competency

Navigating grief

Arriving at hope

Meeting caregivers where they are, and a chance to share stories
Caregivers trained as parent mentors offer the valuable support of a listening ear and a caring connection to other caregivers who may be struggling with their own experiences.
This is a specialized two-part training. Part 1 consists of watching videos. Part 2 will consist of a PowerPoint presentation. Interested caregivers must complete Part 1 before completing part 2.
